Lye – These 90s-inspired oval sunglasses, both prescription and sunglasses, remind us of Leonard Charles Huia Lye, the early 20th-century New Zealand artist known for his extraordinary experimental films and kinetic sculptures. After being portrayed wearing tiny colored sunglasses, PORTRAIT reinterprets the artist’s selection of eyewear through an original, fragmented geometric composition, pieces of metal assembled together reminiscent of Lye’s patterns, surgical instruments and layering. Portrait sunglasses are made entirely by hand in Italy by true artisans who combine traditional craftsmanship with high technology, pursuing the highest quality standards.
